Current Sermon Series: "...BUT GOD..."

Audio RecordingsWatch Live

“But God” are two little words that make an enormous difference in the lives of those who live by biblical faith. On one side are all of humanity's darkest moments and life’s most difficult paths, while on the other side is the infinite provision and grace of our Creator. “But God” reminds us that there is a greater purpose in our suffering, grace in our sin, and hope for our future. They are two words that take us beyond a mere human perspective toward life and reveal a divine point of view. If we can understand these two words, and learn to rest upon them daily, they will completely transform our lives.

In this series, we will explore just five "but God" statements that contribute to the dozens of examples we find throughout the Scripture.

I am forgotten...but God remembers.
Genesis 8:1, But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided.

I am an enemy...but God treats me as a friend.
Romans 5:8, But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

I am suffering...but God has a plan.
Genesis 50:20, As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

I am fading...but God revives.
Psalm 73:26, My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

I am dead... but God brings life.
Ephesians 2:4-5, But God, being rich in mercy because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ-by grace you have been saved.
